Ambulatory Transportation in Greater Chicago
Some riders don’t need a wheelchair. They need a driver who offers an arm on the steps and walks at their pace. First Class Mobility provides ambulatory and assisted-walking rides across Cook, DuPage, and Lake counties, to dialysis, doctor visits, therapy, and the everyday stops in between.
Who Ambulatory Rides Are For
Riders who walk on their own, with a cane, or with a walker, and who would rather have someone with them than manage alone: after surgery, when balance isn’t what it was, when the parking lot is a long way from the door, or when a long appointment leaves them tired on the way home. The rider decides how much help they want. We bring it.
Need a hand from the door to the appointment? Let’s book it.
How an Ambulatory Ride Works
-
We Ask First.
When you book, tell us how the rider gets around and where they might want a hand: the front steps, the parking lot, the check-in desk.
-
We Come to the Door.
Your driver arrives on time, greets the rider by name, and helps them into the van.
-
We Walk Them In.
At the destination, the driver walks the rider inside to the front desk, or as far as they need.
-
We Bring Them Home.
Book the return with the first ride, and we’ll be back at the time you set.

Common Questions
Does the driver help with stairs and doors?
Yes. Tell us about steps, a long walk from the parking lot, or heavy doors when you book, and the driver will plan for them.
Can I bring a walker or a cane?
Of course. There’s room in the van for a folding walker, a cane, and a bag.
How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you know the date. Same-day rides are often possible when a van is free, so if it’s urgent, call.
Do you come to my town?
We serve Cook, DuPage, and Lake counties from our base in Wood Dale, plus longer trips inside Illinois.
See Our Service AreaAre you an ambulance?
No. We provide non-emergency medical transportation for scheduled rides. In an emergency, always call 911.
